Greetings Alumni,
Just 2 years ago, I attended an informational meeting about the Zionsville Schools Alumni Association. I attended this meeting just to gather information and possibly volunteer to help. (I had volunteered with our 1973, 30th class reunion and had a great time.) To my astonishment by the end of this organizational meeting I had been elected President of the Alumni Association. At the first meetings a handful of faithful volunteers became board members and trustees of the organization.
Your alumni board has made terrific progress in a very short period of time. By-laws have been established, enrollment of new members, scholarships awarded and more recently we have been working on a website. The website will help keep alumni connected and assist greatly in getting news out about reunions.
Without the effort put forth by volunteers, this organization would have withered and died. I can not thank these individuals enough for all they have done. As our All Class Reunion draws near, we have even more alumni that have volunteered to help with this event which will bring more than 1,000 alumni and friends together.
With your membership dues we are currently awarding two Zionsville graduates an annual scholarship and hope to award more in the future.
We will continue to implement more ideas that will strengthen the commitment to our mission.
Regards,
Jeff Ottinger, Pres.
Class of 1973
